I want the ability to shoot 6x17 and 4x5 and was thinking about getting a 4x5 with a 6x17 back. One question I have is, how easy are the backs to swap; would it be practical to swap them in the field? And what about swapping lenses on a 4x5 Linhof? If swapping is not practical, I am considering the Linhof technorama 617 or 617s iii. And perhaps an inexpensive 4x5.

Otherwise, I am deciding between a Linhof master technika or technikardan. I am on a budget, so the 4x5 with 6x17 back is an attractive looking option.

The serial number on the shoe is 2531054. It came with what was described as a 5x7 to 4x5 lensboard adapter.

It does not appear to be aftermarket as it is engraved 'Technika' across the top. Since the camera arrived I ordered a lens and a standard 4x5 Copal 1 Linhof Technika lensboard (96x99mm), but it is a few millimeters larger than the opening. The opening on the 5x7 to 4x5 adapter board has approx. 92x94 mm dimensions.

I have not attached the lens to the 4x5 board because it does not seem like the boards are going to fit together properly. Does this seem correct? So far so good. Now i decided to convert my toyo metal field into a 5x7. The toyo uses graflex bords.

Now, i would like to mount all my lenses into the graflex boards. As far as i know no adapter was made from linhof, so i have to make it myself. I know that toyo made an adapter for the graflex board and i think that calumet did one too. For an easy conversion it is best to have a flat adapter ( i just trim it to the right size and fix it with 4 bolts to a linhof 5x7 lens board ). As far as know the toyo isn't flat on the rear side, don't know about the calumet. What i would like to know is: who made an adapter for the graflex 4x5 with a flat rear side.
