In the end, humanity was pushed back, and all human civilization save for ten cities on a small, isolated continent was captured and razed. Most humans were made slaves, others were simply killed—but the few who escaped and survived, the few who remained free, plotted revenge. They had weapons against the demons, weapons that could help them fight back. Fortifying their defenses with powerful magical barriers and training those who could be trained in the dark arts of demoncraft, they quickly showed the demons that they weren’t to be underestimated. Soon, humanity amassed a small army of magic users who could fight back against the demons.

Dubbed, “The Exorcists, ” this group gave hope to humanity, where hope was most needed. It’s been almost seven hundred years since the demons started their war, and humanity is starting to regain its confidence. Whispers are going around about how the demons, whose attacks have been decreasing and decreasing recently, have lost their nerve. Peace has come across the land in the form of a never-ending siege, and soon, they say, that peace will be broken—but this time, by taking the war to the other front.
